Today marks a time in history that will forever be judge,jury on where we stand as a community of people here in America. This is not a time of party,and bullshit,and party,and bullshit. Today is the day that WE have to decide whether we’re content with being in the shadows of struggle,or will we look at today as the start of an uprise,the start of a movement. Barack Obama will be sworn in today as the 1st African-American president,and my question is: WHAT ARE WE PREPARED TO DO? Will we party and celebrate,rejoice and act a fool,only to bullshit ourselves by not having a renewed committment to doing better,being better,and treating people better!!!!!!! I’m personally sick and tired of being sick and tired and would love to see the change he’s (Obama’s) committed to in my lifetime,but I’m not feeling great about the chances because of the mindset of my brothers and sisters. This is why I had to do the On-Blast Awards. I did it because I’m sick and tired of my people not willing to be held accountable for their actions,and I will continue to be a public advocate on situations when our people act a fool regardless of consequence. Today on January 20 2009, I challenge my people to stand-up and be held accountable,recognize what’s at stake, and what’s most important. It’s nothing wrong with letting your hair down,and having a little fun,but let’s be focused when time to be focused so put down the blunts,the drinks,the pills and spend today reflecting on what really matters in life. We as a nation of people are in position to do what was never intended for us in this country,which is to have a voice,and ears who will listen,and President Barack Obama will listen, but if he can’t hear our voices,we can’t blame him for not responding to our call.I am calling on music artist,athletes,politicians to commit to the theme of change by changing the mindset we praved for the youth. Artist can do that by not continuing to exploit the worst in us through music. Athletes can let us know that there’s more to life than scoring points and tattoos. And politicians we need you to truthfully be our voice in the halls of justice. Don’t think for us,speak to us early and often so when you’re in those halls, you’ll know what we need,and know what we wish for. In conclusion,I just want to finally see my people take steps forward,instead of taking one-step forward,then three-steps back,one-step forward,then six steps back,and regardless to whether you accept it,or not!!!!!! That’s exactly where we’re at brothers and sisters. There’s a time to party,but there’s no time for bullshit. There’s a distinct difference between what is entertaining,and what is reality,so know the difference. Enjoy this day,but be ready to come home and build on the movement that is called change,be accountable for your actions,and if you continue to show your ignorance,I will continue to expose them,and expose you because if you’re not part of the solution!!!!!! you’re part of the problem!!!!!!!!
